It was so cold in my apartment last winter that I stayed sick for about two months with some kind of bronchitis / cold from hell. I'm totally using your heating pad, etc. idea this year. I control the heat, luckily, but the old Victorian house my apartment is in won winter last year, big time. It laughed at the insulation and comforters I put up at the windows. Laughed.
