I have a pimple on my forehead. It's just above the inside of my left eyebrow. At least, I believe it's a pimple. I don't get pimples very frequently so my experience with them is somewhat limited. (I'm not saying I have perfect skin- I just tend more towards the lizard-grandma-dehydrated epidermis of death side of things.) I think it's a pimple because it is a raised bump. Not very big. But it looks as though I bumped my forehead maybe. I don't know. Either way, the only thing I can think of is that Scary Story To Tell In The Dark where a spider lays eggs on some lady's face and she thinks it's a pimple, or a boil, or something else but isn't too worried and no doctor will treat her because they say it's just a pimple, go home crazypants, and then she's just sitting there one day and BAM. FUCKING SPIDERS CRAWL OUT OF A HOLE IN HER FACE.
And I am telling you RIGHT NOW that if that's what this is? If I have face spiders? Someone tell my mother I love her because I will just DIE. For serious.
So also if you click around on that spider site I linked to, you will read this line (in reference to yet another urban legend debunked): spiders will drink from your eye (while you sleep) 3 times in your life.
I'm sleeping with eye patches on from here on out.
It just occurred to me that a Normal Lady might have said "eye mask" but my first instinct was to go Full Blind Pirate. How I am still unmarried remains such a mystery to me...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been studying at my dining room table today, and just a bit ago I got up to go sit somewhere else, thinking it would invigorate and refresh me. In doing so, I unplugged the power cable from my computer, choosing to run on battery power instead. Somehow, the magnetic part of the cable that keeps it linked into the computer hit the table and bounced back up, clinging magnetically/pathetically to the side of the cable port, not quite in there but definitely not giving up. I shifted slightly so that I could grab it and pull it back off, but in doing so, I somehow allowed the cable to reinsert itself into the little port. It was so sad to me, all of a sudden, how desperate this little cable was to stay inserted into my computer, that I felt too guilty to yank it back out again. I actually sat back down and finished studying in the same chair.
I've always had a problem with anthropomorphizing things, and I believe it has only gotten worse.
